KonaWare's New Flexible and Extensible Location, Vehicle, and Event Management (LVM) System Offers a Competitive Edge

The KonaWare Fleet Location, Vehicle, and Event Management (LVM) solution provides fleet operators with a foundation for improved asset management, driver control, load management, safety, and security. Unlike other fleet management systems, Fleet LVM uses an event-oriented approach to capture, retain, and transmit data when predefined exceptions occur, versus using a polling model which polls periodically and wastes bandwidth. This event-driven approach ensures that the fleet operator receives the mission critical data they need when they need it, based on business rules they define. All events are associated with the precise GPS location and time stamp to support operations, maintenance, safety, and security decision support systems. Fleet LVM monitors mechanical and electronic systems, provides remote diagnostics, and tracks a variety of user-configurable usage and status data such as fuel consumption, driving patterns, mileage, trailer matching, door open/close, and trailer temperature. It also provides access to real-time fleet location information based on a variety of standard and user-defined metrics. The system offers an unparalleled view into mobile asset status, enabling a competitive edge through reduced operating expenses and improved efficiency. KonaWare and ServicePower's ServiceMobility applications recently QUALCOMM BREW Certified. KonaWare and ServicePower's ServiceMobility application for the field service sector, has recently passed the QUALCOMM TRUE BREWTM application certification. BREW is QUALCOMM'S Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless. The BREW platform allows developers to create applications that operate on all handsets with QUALCOMM CDMA chipsets. BREW sits between the chip system software and the application, making the phone's functionality available to the application without requiring the developer to have the chip system source code or even a direct relationship with a device manufacturer. The program provides QUALCOMM carrier partners such as Verizon Wireless in the United States, KDDI in Japan, and Korea Telecom Freetel (KTF) in Korea, with the comfort level they need before introducing applications onto their networks. For more information visit the BREW website.
