KonaWare to optimize operations at C&S Wholesale Grocers distribution centers using the KonaWare Mobility Platform. KonaWare is developing a mobile dashboard solution for C&S Wholesale Grocers, a $15 billion leader in grocery distribution. The project will use the KonaWare Mobility Platform to create a series of key performance indicator (KPI) screens to allow 500 distribution center floor supervisors to better manage the operation. Using Windows Mobile handheld devices and the KonaWare developed solution, floor supervisors will be able to better control distribution center efficiency while not being chained to a desktop PC. KonaWare automates proof of delivery and mobile tracking at TNT Logistics using latest software for wireless solutions. TNT Logistics, a top ten transportation and logistics company, contracted with KonaWare for the development and implementation of a mobile tracking and proof-of- delivery solution. The solution will be used for their dedicated carriage services between auto parts distribution centers and major dealerships around the country. Sandia National Labs consults KonaWare on RFID technologies to ensure security at 22 facilities. Sandia National Labs, one of the United States leading classified research centers, used KonaWare senior consultants to evaluate and recommend a variety of RFID technologies to ensure cellular telephones were tracked coming into and out of classified areas in their complexes. The evaluation included testing of a variety of RFID portals and passive tags from multiple manufacturers. Based on the evaluation and recommendation, Sandia plans to deploy the recommended solution to 22 different facilities to ensure the security and asset control of employee cellular systems. White House considers EOBR Proposal. The Department of Transportation on Aug. 10 submitted for White House review a long-awaited regulatory document related to the use of onboard recorders (EOBRs) for hours-of-service compliance. Although the precise scope of the proposal is not known, sources said that it is a comprehensive package of incentives and, possibly, proposed requirements that would encourage wider adoption of EOBRs.
